Day 12 {Oh, how I loved day 12}

Day 12: Day of service.

My sweet friend and I had the pleasure of cramming our cars full of sweet little girls and starting our adventure at our local Ronald McDonald House where we presented them with around 250 pillow cases from the Team Bubba pillow case project. So, if you have been counting... yes... we hit almost 800 pillow cases in our very first annual Team Bubba pillow case project. I can't even begin to tell you how close this project has made me feel to my sweet Bubba.

The girls that came with us helped to sew pillow cases and were excited to see where they eneded up. ;)

They were so kind when we showed up with some VERY excited girls.

We gifted them the pillow cases.....

Then we dropped off some yummy cookies in the kitchen for the residents.........

{The girls are very excited about going to back to cook one night as another service project.}

They met some of the residents..... {of course no pictures there}.......

and the girls got a tour of the Ronald McDonald House and all of the wonderful things they do for families while they are there.

They left feeling so excited and good about themselves.......
and all they did was simply sew a pillow case.
It is AMAZING how by doing SMALL acts of kindness we CAN do GREAT things!!!

After we left the Ronald McDonald house we headed for some real girl time......
Shopping!!!!
Each of the girls got a budget and picked out toys  to take........
to one of our local fire stations for the Spark of Love toy drive.

These girls were SOOO EXCITED!!
{Can you see Bubba with us??}

The guys at the station were so kind and let the girls take over the place. ;)

I am so grateful for day 12 and the chance that we had to serve. I am so grateful for "my girls" as I call them, and the excitment in their faces as they had to chance to serve others. I hope and pray that this is a day that they will always remember. Serisously, isn't this what this time of year is all about??? Christ's entire life was filled with service. What better gift can we give to our Savior and Redeemer at this time of year than to try to be like him.... to love our fellow man... to serve.

Matthew 5:14-16"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. "Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Catching up after a very hard week and some hard emotions to sort out, and what I come and find here is that your Bubba is with you ALWAYS and helping you sort out the tough stuff too. Such a precious gift to know he is watching over you, providing you with the right people to cross paths with so that life has more balance. God is surely keeping you in his loving embrace. Regan has always been wise beyond her tender years and now she shares her wisdom and purpose with other children. It is why we can hope for a better future; our little children are finding a meaningful pathway to it.

Goodmorning, I write from italy, so sorry for my english... I visited this blog many times but only today I've found out that your son is no longer with you. I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry, but on the other hand he has benn very lucky, and most importantly, very happy. I don't have an happy family, and looking at your photos I always smile, I love that you do things together and that you make a lot of activities. He was very happy, it was clear from all the photos, he really loved you and will be forever with you. Keep on doing the great work of charity and raising your daughter, she looks creative and with a big heart! xoxo rita
