Feeling blessed beyond meausure............

What a difference a day makes. Bubba's body gave him some much needed relief today and was seizure free!!!!!! What a HUGE blessing this was for him. We are hoping that ALL of the new medications did the trick and this will not be happening again any time soon. I am so blessed to be married to a worthy man that is able to give our son blessings at times like this. I am blessed that despite hard days and nights we were able to see small glimpses of Bubba's smile. Tonight while Jason was saying our family prayer he voiced my gratitude so clearly.... our health insurance that provides these services for Bubba, modern technology and medication, the power of prayer and all of the many people that joined us in prayer for our little boy.... and the list goes on. Now, I wish that I could say that Bubba had a wonderful day today but that was not the case. Bubba has been having some issues with his g-tube site for a little bit, we have been using topical medications to try to resolve it. This morning I could tell that it was bothering him, to my horror when I looked it was bloody. At some point in the night the blister had burst and irate the granuloma. I changed the gauze and with in no time the new one was covered in blood. I had to take him into the hospital. They had to cauterize the area around the g-tube site to try to stop the bleeding. It took multiple treatment and a lot of tears. We are praying that the treatment and new medications will be just what he needs and prevent any infection. While I was at the hospital Jason sent me a text "you have the best friends... you have a surprise waiting for you when you get home." When Bubba and I finally got home there was a package from my sweet friend. It was the perfect pick me up.... diet coke, some of my favorite candy, a reusable cup that I had been wanting and a supportive card. I checked my phone to find messages from several friends "what can I do... are you OK.... do you need help with Regan?" Then my Mom called me and told me that her and my little sister wanted to buy plane tickets to come out here. My sweet in laws kept checking in and offering to cut their trip short {which I would NEVER let them do}. My family kept checking in and were such a HUGE support. You, my sweet friends, have left such kind messages and offered prayers of Bubba's behalf. How in the world can I not feel blessed!?!?!?!?! I mean seriously I could not ask for a better support system.... Thank you!!!!! Today was another hard one BUT Bubba is doing better and asleep in his bed. I am praying that with another full day of rest we might be able to give him the best medication we can on Friday... Yes, you’ve got it Disney! wink!!!
Grateful for all of the new medications..........
A wonderful team of doctors that get us in right away to help his tummy..........
and the little glimpses of his sweet smile!

{Quick Update}

Bubba is doing pretty good. Last night was hard, he was in a lot of pain. It is never easy to watch your child suffer. Collin only wanted his Mommy and finding the most comfortable position was hard at times. I don't know what I was thinking wearing a white shirt (crazy) Collin had so much blood coming out of his nose and it ended up on me. By the end of the day I looked like I had been in a fight and lost. (At times I kind of felt that way ... wink!) Last night was HARD. The combination of 28+ hours of no food plus the pain was so much for our sweet Bubba. We got a sweet room mate at 12:30am and this poor little guy was in pain also. :( Today Collin was doing a little better and I even managed to get a smile out of him... while watching a Disneyland video OF COURSE!! wink! He has tolerated two feeds in his G Tube now and we are HOPING that we are able to come home tomorrow.  Thank you for your love and prayers!!!
Keep them coming!

Make over Monday {and prayers needed}

Regan has this yellow dress from last season. It is cute but to be honest I was getting a bit tired of it. She is my dress girl and wants to wear a dress EVERY day. So, rather than go and buy her a new dress I decided to give this one a little make over, a second life if you will.

I started by taking the sad little bows off of the shoulders. Then I decided to add some Yo Yo's to it. It seems like they are on EVERthing for kids this season. They are SOOO easy to make. I didn't want to make a Yo Yo head band {I thought that would be an over kill} So, I made a basic pink bow. I decided that it needed something else so I made her a button braclet with a matching Yo Yo in the center. It took me no time at all and I think it gave this sad little yellow dress just what it needed.

Yes, I am asking for prayers again. My sweet little boy will be sedated tomorrow morning for his MRI. I am nervous, for the sedation... for the results. Please pray that my baby comes out just fine.
The power of prayer is amazing!!!
THANK YOU!!

{unanswered prayers}

"Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers

Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he may not answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

Some of God's greatest gifts are all too often unanswered...
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers "

Garth Brooks

The other day I asked you to pray for my baby. Then the day came and I was frustrated that he wasn't even able to have the scan done that he needed. Well, I think that all of our prayers were defiantly answered that day. Maybe at first I didn't understand why this would happen to him.... why he would have to go through so much for nothing. Friday night it was made clear to me why that happened. Collin started coughing and with the episodes he would stop breathing for short periods. Saturday morning I took Collin into the doctors first thing. Collin had bronchitis verging on pneumonia. (with little to no symptoms) She was very concerned and it scared me. So, we gave him a breathing treatment in the office. She prescribed on oral steroid, antibiotic, and we had to get our own machine to continue to give him breathing treatments every four hours. She told me that if he didn't get better that he would end up in the hospital.

Tonight I am grateful for answered prayers that may at first seem like unanswered prayers. I am grateful to the doctor for acting on the feelings that he had on Thursday. For standing his ground and insisting that it would not be a good thing to put Collin under. If it weren't for him following his gut things could have ended very badly that day.

Bubba is still having a hard time BUT we have managed to stay out of the hospital. :)

The power of prayer is an amazing and wonderful thing. We might not always understand the answers to our prayers but God knows each one of us personally and knows our needs. I feel very blessed.
